Ok . I bought the car in december ,it was bought with an overheating fault ,and a worn clutch .This was never a problem as the whole engine would be rebuilt /uprated anyhow
The nice surprise was when a month ago whilst we were removing the engine ,was the heater pipes which ran across the top of the tank were split .bad news for some ,but good news for me .it explained the loss of water which was leading to the overheating .this was repaired with 19mm heater hose , replacing the whole section .and also allowed me to change the fuel pump whilst the tank was out
Anyhow .I soon set to work . The engine was stripped down and inspected all was as it was when it left the toyota factory .big and main bearings were like new , bores still had the hone marks around them ,,and there wasn't any oil leaks
This made life a little difficult .for a week or so i was deliberating whether to get a new block ,after hearing the horror stories of rev3 thin blocks .Or to get my current one sleeved .Or just to chance it seeing as i wouldn't need to go oversize on the pistons
I decided to risk it .I only hope it all goes ok
The block was lightly honed .and painted , not for bling but just to freshen it up
Then the wossner pistons and eagle rods , which Peter Gidden supplied were assembled and fitted and the rest of the bottom end reassembled
i was then left with a few days whilst Peter gidden sourced me some cams
Piper 264's and piper valve spring were decided on
this left me with some time to paint a few things , including cam cover
The cylinder head was stripped ,and tested for true ,it was all in spec , so a light rub-in of the valves and all was reassembled using the uprated Piper springs .I the fitted the ARP head studs to the block and refitted the head
I then refitted the flywheel ,and placed on my RPS streetmax clutch which was only 1000miles old ,was previously in my rev1 turbo seemed a shame to get a new one when this one was so good
so now the head was on , the cluch and box were refitted, the inlet manifold had been cleaned and painted ,and i was awaiting the cams
The cams got here , along with the ATS cam gears .the best thing about the ATS cam gears is the fact they use OEM toyota gears ,with an adjustable alloy insert precision fitted into the centre .in my opinion much more suitable than an all alloy gear
The cams and gears were fitted ,and the valve clearances re-shimmed .Then the cam timing was done with a dial gauge and a degree wheel to pipers settings
Tomorrow the engine is going back in the car .It will be a few weeks as yet till the thing is running .as i am still awaiting the turbo i have selected to arrive from the states ,as i ordered a few extras on my kit which meant that there were none in stock
I will update this thread as more parts arrive
I would also like to thank Peter @S-Bits for his continued help, advice ,patience and top notch service througout this build .A+

Looking good
Re: my 442 bhp rev3 . now sold
Ok progress is still slow
waiting for a turbo kit from the USA seems to be taking AGES
But at least this has given me the chance to do the fiddly jobs that always seem to get left for next weekend
Basically since the rebuilt engine went in a month ago
i have
retrofitted my TOAD AI606 alarm from my old rev1
Fitted new speakers all round ,my alpine mp3 headunit ,and a pioneer active sub behind the drivers seat
Fitted my BuddyClub PII racing alloys
freed of a sticky caliper
wired in my apexi AVCR and mounted the display in the ashtray hole
run in the extension for my powerfc commander
Fitted a set of rare factory recaro's
Fitted a pair of USDM rear corner light reflectors
Clay-barred the paintwork and given it a generous coat of meguires gold class polish ,which i have never used before . I was always a diehard AUTOGLYM fan , but i won't go back now
Yes i know it badly need lowering .Tomorrow i am going to pick up a set of TEIN coilovers
Anyway here are some pictures
RECAROS
Clay-barred and poilshed paint YUMMY
Dash shot of avcr and pfc commander
Shiney paint and USDM red corners
Buddyclub alloys
Hopefully the next time i update this post will be next weekend and the Turbo will be on and running

Good work mate, coming along very nicely
Re: my 442 bhp rev3 . now sold
Sorry to hear of your woes with the stuff from the other side of the pond. They are notoriously slow getting stuff across. I waited a couple of months for my turbo kit to turn up.
All worth it in the end though. The first time you give it a boot full, you'll forget all about the sleepless nights and the months it took to get you there.
Keep your chin up mate. It's looking really sweet.

Mate fair do's to you look like you got around to doing the mods i loved the rev1, thought that was quick, will be good to see what power she is making. Seems like you have put a lot of effort into her, i hope it works as well as you hope.
