[Mk2] [Turbo] Problems with digital boost gauge

Post by jimbo1989 »

Yesterday I fitted a digital boost gauge but it is reading maximum boost when the engine is ticking over & then goes down to zero when it is actually boosting. I have piped into the pipe under the turbo pressure sensor before the filter as this is what I have been told to do. As far as I can see the wiring is correct but is wont read correctly..

Just wondering if anyone can shed any light on this??

no, I have given up, going to send the gauge back to manufacturer and they can test it... might be knackered so am basically p1$$ing into the wind - we shall see...

Try hooking up a 12v source for the gauge, and the pressurise the sensor with a foot pump. See if you get the same reading.

I'm assuming that it has a electronic sender unit? Does this have all the required fittings? Is it earthed?
