Black Limited??

Post by Soupasam »

I've seen a few small pics of an MR2 "Black Limited" brochure on the net and was wondering if anyone knows anything about them.

Basically it sounds cool and i want one... :D

I'm not 100% sure, but this would be an incredibly rare find, ie rarer than the super edition, so it could be an incredibly long wait to find one.

Mark (SC guru) says he has never heard of one and relates the 'black limited' to the black limited corolla which is better known.

WOW!!

Twin, twin pipes and a special button on the console. This is going on the list of things to buy before i die. Black cars are so much cooler.

Are there many standard Mk1's in black? Think im gonna have to make a replica.... :-k

I saw a jap breaker flogging a black limited rear window glass recently, and also a private seller on fleabay selling a pair of tinited 'black limited' wind defllectors (they clip around the sidewindows), & JDM supercharger splitrims come up for grabs occassionally. HTH

I'm guessing a personally modified vehicle, that list looks like handpicked mods not a Toyota limited run (though I could be wrong). Only black mk1s I have ever seen are mk1a. Bloody nice car though!

If only we had someone who could read japanese, five minutes on google.jp would solve many issues that we have wrestled with for years.... :D Does anyone know such a person?

the rear window will just be the same. Its worth remembering that that car in that pic has been modified. SC's never had splitrims for example. The wind deflectors are not a 'black limited' thing, they are simply another option.

Also, the wind deflectors only fit on sunroof or tintop models. & yes I did ask to see if they'd fit mine!

That rear wing is from an R34 Skyline so you'd be lucky to find one cheap.

Nice findings there Sam =D>

I came across the black limited the other day when I was looking through the supercharger site, seems to be the best looking mk1 you can get IMO. Thats why I stuck a pic on my signature! Have been looking very seriously into getting a super charger lately, & usually when I get this interested in a car, I'll have one in next to no time! It was only a day after seeing a really stunning MK1 parked up outside my gym that I had become obsessed with the idea of owning one & started looking to buy. A week later I had gone and bought my current car!

Hmmm....Been looking into this "Black Limited" business:

Dont get TOO excited....looking at the brochure pix above, its just the Pre-87 NA Mk1a...Look at the engine cover and the wheels...not an SC.....

The bottom one is a rather nice custom jobbie... :D

Oh...while we're here, can anyone confirm when Mr T changed the radio aerial position from the roof to the rear quarter on sunroof model Mk1's..?

I think that they possibly carried the black limited on to the supercharger as well
