Should I sell my TRD Widebody??

Post by shafster »

got a bit of a dilemna here. i've kind of overspent on the widebody. i was hoping it would cost me about 6.5k to get it roadworthy and registered etc. however at the moment it's looking to be more like 7.5k. 1k over my estimate/ budget. this coupled with the fact that i havent sold the red one yet as it needs a driveshaft (which i cant find) means im almost out of pocket.

so do i sell the widebody and lose a bit of money on it or spend the rest of the money getting both mr2's up to scratch and hope i can sell one of them?

anyone who's interested in the widebody, drop me a pm to discuss...... donations of the cash variety gratefully accepted

£7.5k for an early "TRD Style" kitted NA with an engine conversion... crikey!

I thought it would have been landed for about £4k but it still looks very nice - would be a shame to sell but needs must I guess. Is it really that hard to get the driveshaft you need? Have you spoken to Xxxx who posts on here?

What size spacers is it running on the wheels?

He hasn't got any, I'm in the market for a drivers side one since the bearing housing on mine is nackered. :(
Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Just say NO to small turbos!

tell me about it, it was 4k before it even got on the container to get shipped over here. then add container shipping £2000, unloading and taxes, conversions (mph, fogs etc.), mot stuff, registration and road tax, paintwork etc etc. the list just goes on and on :(

30mm spacers on rear only.

i wouldn't sell it shaf! you should keep it after all this hassle you've had in getting it!

you'll earn that £1k back again! just sell some more crap off you're website hehe ;)

MR2 is always worth it! my MR2 turbo costs me twice the cash in petrol almost compared to my MK1 and insurance and servicing can kill me a bit on the old wallet but the grin factor overalls all that by miles!

sort the TRD one out, take it for a drive and suddenly £1k out of pocket will make a lot of sense believe! :D

Keep it shaf. A TRD is the Dream MR2, once the bodyworks sorted you'll fall in love. You just need to pump those muscles now

Both cars are fine examples but i think you'd be mad to sell the TRD now you've finally got it over here and let someone enjoy all the attention.

Get the bodywork sorted and get some bloody clear lenses and side repeaters on it  then keep on pimpin'

Message ends.....
