Is this still an ongoing problem for you? I used to fit clifford alarms in my spare time when I was at college to bring in some cash.

Firstly the remote
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- button 1 is for arming
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
& disarming, button 2 is for an option channel, press both together for arm/disarm without confirmation chirps.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Check around the battery area for the alarm feeds, there are two, one should be fitted with a 5amp fuse(supply for the system, normally the fuse holders are black with a small length of black wire which will then connect to a red wire.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The other fuse should be 20amps, again small length of black wire, this time to red/white tracer which is for the parts of the system which draw more current, indicator flash etc.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Also, can you find a small toggle switch which is normally fitted in the glovebox or a cubby hole? this is the
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
'valet' switch which is used for programming remotes.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If this switch is known to you turn the ignition on to position 2 and switch the switch to the other side.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If the alarm is alive, i.e.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
no fuses are blown, it is plugged in and it isn't knackered the LED will glow red.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Right still with me? Okay, if this works switch the switch back to where it was, the LED should go out, and turn off the ignition.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Now, with remote handy
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
(ensure the battery is good) turn on the ignition, and flick the valet switch back and forth 7 times(if memory serves me correctly) after each backwards
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
& forwards switch a chirp should be heard from the siren
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- count seven chirps.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
After the seventh chirp, press button 1 on the remote
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
- you should hear another chirp/maybe two to acknowledge that the alarm has received the signal from the remote, at this point turn the ignition off.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The LED should have now turned back off also.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Now try pressing button 1 on the remote.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
If still no joy, remove the two alarm fuses mentioned earlier and replace them to reset the system.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Repeat the above.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
Still no joy then its either knackered, unplugged or the remote is knackered.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
FYI if I was installing it I would have located the unit under the heater controls by pulling back the centre console carpet at the passenger side.
![](./images/smilies/spacer.gif)
The lock on the siren in your engine bay is to turn off the siren manually, as you don't have the key hope it is switched on or all of this is a waste of time.

If you need any other info on cliffords let me know as I have access to all wiring diagrams and some of the trouble shooting information.
