Advice please on buying another MR2

Post by Ellie »

I have the offer of another MR2, its not in very good condition. I have had a look at it and this is what I saw from initial look.

J reg british car with sunroof (badges missing so dont know what model)
Stereo is missing and blanking plate in situ.
Rear bumper scraped and damaged lens is broken
Drivers rear wheel arch starting to bubble, also looks like this same rear wing has had a bad paint job too.
Red paintwork all over is looking very pink.
Exhaust sounds as if its blowing
Alternator needs replacing
Rear boot, lid is bubbling badly where the spoiler fits on
Its done 138800 miles
Crappy cheap aerial fitted
Has a full MOT and some service history
Usual bits missing - tool kit, sun shade (I presume this model had one)

Big question is, what is in your opinion do you thini its worth?

Thanks in advance,
Ellie.

If its in that condition then it may not have been very well maintained and the engine could be in a poor state along with the running gear.

I would avoid it to be honest.

Are you looking for an MR2 on a budget?
