On my G limited, i put in about £35 to fill and was getting about 350 miles, so i guess its about right.
Re: FUEL ECONOMY

Re: FUEL ECONOMY
depends on your driveing style? and the roads you are useing for the 250 miles, stop start or motorways? im sure i get more out of mine , but i will check and let you know, cheers
Re: FUEL ECONOMY
I drove up to north wales for the day last week. Mostly driving on A roads. Fuel economy is much better on the motorway can get 40 miles to £5 but its rubbish with everyday driving were ill be lucky to get 30 miles to £5. Anyway its worth it!!
cheers.

Re: FUEL ECONOMY
Whats confusing u vindezal? Come on, u can tell me.
Re: FUEL ECONOMY
General figures for combined consumption figures are around 25-30 mpg for most situations.
I managed 36 mpg on a 280 mile return journey recently, but probably only 25 if I'm just doing 10 min runs.........

£35 for 350 miles is very good - do you drive like a granny?!!!
I'm lucky to get 250 miles from £30!! And that's not even pushing it!!
Re: FUEL ECONOMY
The most Ive got out just as the light was flashing was 270 miles. Just seems a bit good if your getting 350! you got to have been doing 56 mph on a motorway for that long to get that many miles, just seems alot...
Re: FUEL ECONOMY
If cruising at 80 mph for 350 miles it will cost an NA in good running order £35. Or at least that is what I've found. This equated to about 36 mpg!! Although I would never get this in any other conditions!
If I went 56 mph just imagine how good consumption would be!! 40mpg??

Re: FUEL ECONOMY
would think we all have good running engines I hope. I always reset the clock hoping one day I'll smash that record I have. though chopping changing petrol stations i.e BP,Esso,Shell.. all with super unleaded keeps the MR2 on top form, gives variety.
aaaa.. gone are the days of fiesta si 1600 16v, where it was 200 miles for £30, or 93 for a whole tank if you hamered it! MR2 better economy.

Re: FUEL ECONOMY
Heres a question regarding fuel,
Do you think its better to use super unleaded or normal unleaded. Are there any major differences say for instance in a non turbo, do youget better fuel mileage??

Toyota reckon @ 55mph the MR2 should do 45mpg
And @ 75mph (where legal ) should do 35mpg.
My 30 miles journey to work consists of around 10 miles school run traffic (half an hour), 10 miles motorway (10 minutes) then 10 miles of getting into Sheffield (half an hour). Taking exactly the same route the only bit I could really change was the motorway driving. So after a full tank and a few days of driving at (an indicated) 60mph I found my fuel economy improved by about 0.5mpg compared to doing around 80mph.

For a UK NA I'd say stick with normal 95ron fuel.
I found no gain using Shell Optimax at all
Probably a different matter if you've an import that's mapped for Jap 100ron fuel...
Re: FUEL ECONOMY
Ye I didnt think optimax would make a difference in a non turbo car. Thanks for the mpg figures, think I just need to adjust my driving style a bit. Its funny cos my cars fuel economy on the motorway is great, its only worse when driving in town, I thought that if the car is reving high on the motorway then its going to drink fuel. This obviously isnt the case. My old car (saab 900) used to drink fuel at high speed and be more economical around town.
Re: FUEL ECONOMY
Agree with Johnny, I put Optimax in once, only coz fuel was at a low price. Didn't notice any difference in my N/A but I'm sure it would be more noticable in a tubby.
As for economy, I tend to get about 230 miles to £30. The most I've got is 280 from a tank (£37), but don't find the way I drive really makes that much difference. Even when I drive like a corpse, I still can't break 300 miles to a tank!!!!

..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

I wasn't just referring to an import tubby, I meant an import NA too, probably.
