Initially we're looking at sub-300bhp (~280) solutions on stock internals. Both projects are race cars and reliability is a key issue - the main area of focus is actually oil control with baffled sump, laminar flow oil coolers (engine and gearbox) and accusump. I believe the turbo project install is going in ahead in the next week or so - I'll see if the owner minds me posting pictures.

Both cars (and at least two others) will form a team at this year's Birkett six hour relay race, before going on to race in a dedicated series next year. I can't say too much at the moment but expect an announcement in the motoring press in the next month or so.

to the guy who said the 190 lump is guttless at lower revs i have to disagree...

i owned a 190 vvtli celica gen 7 and its really pretty good low down, obviously to work it at its best you need to be on lift and when you are its great fun, i think it would be a right laugh in the MK3, it hauls the celica round well, sounds xxxxxx awesome and its really good on fuel to boot

awwwwwwwwwwwwww i miss my Gen 7 now

Just working on a new project roadster and want to sort out performance through the winter ready for next year.

I am really interested in a VVTLI conversion... does anyone know if its been done in UK and if here is a kit for it? ](*,)

otherwise whats the best turbo conversion (i am trying to keep to under £3.5k

I have got brakes and handling sorted... just finishing off the wide arch kit and then its a audio build... arggh

really appreciate some wisdom from you guys as i am new to MR2 roadsters ..
