Post by GordR »

Well Guys

After initially hoping to keep the car, im afraid iv had to make the decision to sell her due to the housing project moving along quicker than expected

I have owned the car for a couple of weeks after taking her in px for my Supra. And have to say i have been very impressed with the car, both looks, handling and performance are all fantastic!

OK so details.

She is a Genuine TRD2000GT No.21 of 35 built. ( has the plaque under the bonnet)

She was imported by newera back in 2004, and has been extensively looked after by Owen developments and numerous other Toyota specialists.

Spec as followed

1992 K

33000 Miles on TRD 300KM Clock ( fully converted to MPH) - she has covered only 43000miles in total.

Red - Superb unmarked condition

TRD2000GT Widebody Kit

TRD 17" Wheels and goodyear tyres

TRD Wheel Nuts.

HKS Scon ECU setup by Owen Developments

MRD Exhausts system , with jap style 3.5" Tailpipe.

Induction Kit

Defi Gauges and link meter

MOMO steering wheel

TRD Gear knob

Recaro Seats

Kenwood Double Din DVD Player and Uprated speakers

Alarm

Recently had new brakes, callipers and service. Invoices for all.. I will list the all the work when i have aw sec.

Sure there will be bits iv missed.

Because this is such a rare car with only 3 or 4 in the UK . Its hard to put a price on the car. So i am Asking for sensible offers please.

maybe a guide price would be a % over what you gave on a part ex.

...just a thought....would give some peoples a ball-park figure ! :)

the guys right folks. The GT2000 was a package offered to existing owners, although naturally they also used a handful of brand new cars too for showroom sales. The cars were then reclassified as GT2000 rather than GT , GTS etc.

I guess whichever order the owners appeared in dictates the number on the plate.

whatever your thoughts on this theres no getting away fromt eh fact that this is a very very special car which is the rarest MR2 (albeit the ugly convertible0 out there with a real history.

remember what happened witht he Cossie boys guys. the economy took a downturn and everyone laughed at what the enthusiasts wanted for their cars. now its those enthusiasts with oem Cossies who are laughing. My bros RS500 is valued at over £20,000.

You might want to bare this in mind guys.

Thanks to Ribbo and Bobby for their comments. From my point of view you have hit the nail on the head.

And goingback to the RS500 comparrision. Would you say im not paying that much for a genuine RS500 when i can get a 3dr cossie and stick a rs500 kit on it for Thousands less. You wouldnt the idea is you are buying a piece of true cossie history.

If you are in the frame of mind where you think that the car is worth a lot less simply because you can buy a cheap rev 2 and stick a replica kit on it for so little. Fine..do that.. if you share the view of myself and other you are welcome to contact / post and ask more info. This is a true piece of Toyota history. Look at how much TRD3000Gts are making.

I appriecated everyones views. But i am going to ask the have this thread removed and then i shall repost and try not let the thread go off topic. And let those that are seriously interested post. I will also put a price up "I" think the car is worth. People are still welcome to make me offers.

Thanks

if that was a reply to my post i was trying to guage how much the TRD badge was worth as its difficult to value.

I personally wouldnt stick a trd kit on my car, but a TRD car is another thing and definately appeals

A value will help :D

dammit guys!!!!!!

I dont even know this guy yet i'm prepared to defend him. Whats wrong with some of you!? Are you the same jnd of people who walk into a restaurant then complain about the funking prices!!!?????? If you dont like the prices .......funk off!!!!!!and go to the Dog and Duck for there happy hour and meal combo!

this guy has a legit piece of jap history which is right up there with many of the rare RS cars , and other limited editions like NSX-Rs, GT 3000, MR2 Spyder, 22b, etc etc etc If you guys think that its worth naff all then there's no need to mess up his sale for the sake of bitchiness. I can understand when there's a lying eBayer out there that we all slam the guy but this is certainly NOT the case here.

Facts are:

The car is straight from TRD

The cars jap owner obviously was only after the aethstetic option not he engine, suspension etc.

It is onw of ONLY 35 EVER made.

It has historical status as a celebration of JGTC success

the build quality will be nigh on flawless and I would imagine far superior to anything Daves Bodyshop can do.

like weve discussed in other threads, a car is only worth what your prepard to pay for it, so give the damn guy a chance to find that real enthusiast. comparing this car tpo a kitted rev2 is embarrasing as an IMOCer and just plain stupid.

.......aaaaaaand breathe.

Guys I have removed a lot of junk from this thread.

The guy is selling a genuine TRD MR2. Read the facts that Bobby wrote. It's all there.

Please do not post unless you are interested.

One of only 35 is worth something in anyone's book. It is not merely a kitted rev2, it's a factory converted TRD. These cars are qualitatively different from a kitted 'two.

Chappie has mentioned £8K where I've seen it for sale elsewhere...bargain IMHO and a lot less than I paid recently (though spec is a bit different).

Whata bargain for one of the rarest jap collectables!

I would never even consider something like this (like I have the money! ) as my car lives on the raod and regualrly recieves parking dings. Its also a daily (ish) runner). I need a heated and padded garage b4 i even consider a car like this. :?
