Strange noise

Hi all, After doing alot of work to my car, i decided to start it up for the first time in quite a while. I then noticed a pulsating squeaking kind of noise coming from the cambelt side. What are the possibilities of a tensioner bearing causing this? is there anything else that makes this kind of noise? chris

Assuming it went with engine speed are you sure it wasn't the alternator belt?

yeah it gets higher with the revs. im going to have a look properly tomorrow. chris
