UK MR2 Idling Query...............!

Post by BlueTurbo »

Hi,
a mate has a mk2 MR2 2.0 UK GT. The problem is every now and then when driving and pulling up to a junction / slowing down the rev fluctuates between 300-1000rpm.. once or twice it has even almost died down the ignition lights come on but he revs it a little then its ok.........

ANY IDEAS? CAR IS COMPLETELY STANDARD UK S REG.

My old mr2 was doing this turned out to be leaking inlet pipe.

Could be a number of things!

I have heard that a lot of cars do tend to do this though

Could be an air leak in the inlet system somewhere - check all the hoses etc

My car has the exact same problem. sometimes it does cut out completely though. it's a rev 2 n/a import. i can't see any obvious air leaks. any other suggestions?
