Its happened to a few rev3's running 300-330 bhp.V8Killer here was unlucky enough to have that problem.
Rev1 and Rev2's have a different cast block and don't seem to have
a similar issue.

'cause I hear the blocks are
*generally* a little stronger.
Guess I'll find out soon

Any chance of a guarantee?
Kept mine as standard bores too, for safety more than anything

.infact only about 320 odd BHP!!!

Off to the.com boreds to do some reading then

I wouldn't over bore a stock block.
Mushin, Neil. What size pistons did you have?
I was speaking to Tony at Fensport and he said you shouldn't bore it out to fit bigger pistons as you are making a weak block weaker. They had problems running 87mm pistons
(with a stroker kit) on a thickwalled block.
Thats why they went down to 2.1
(going from 87mm pistons to 86mm).
I wouldn't go bigger pistons on our blocks. From what Tony was saying.
87mm pistons or 86.5 are ok on thick walled blocks but when you go stroker on a thick walled block is when you get the problems on them.
Should have got a kit where the 2.2 is all in the stroke
(like mine

Stock blocks I'd go stock size pistons.
Or get a thick walled block like I have![]()

i agree on the overboring, that's why i sleeved mine, not too keen on the idea of wekening mr2 blocks that are knwon to crack
