Bringing down the faceless corporate machine.

as you know i crashed my prized turbo. (if you didnt know, read my user name)

the insurance company were playing silly beggars offering me as good as half the value of the car.

after a couple of formal complaints, and in reply to their FINAL offer of £4500 i stepped it up a notch. i gathered together all the adverts for rev 3 turbos on autotrader, made a powerpoint presentation showing why mine was better than each one, then drew up a graph of all the prices.
the average (including some very ropey GTS's) came in at £6350ish.

i threatened to take my "portfolio" to the ombudsmen if they didnt give me any more cash.

they have come back to me with a FULL PAYOUT of £6000. :D

I'll take that victory for everybody who has been screwed by the insurance co's...

moral- dont take any offer, just keep sticking it out.

p.s. i have the 20 pages of ads for anybody who is in a similar position to me.
it is fairly generic stuff that can be modded to suit your car.

Greedy buggers. Just think how many people don't go that far in trying to get a decent payout for their motor... and then think how much they are making from it.

Well done, and excellent result.... Maybe worth saving the powerpoint presentation on IMOC :-) then others can adapt it for their needs as it seems we are continaully fighting this battle.
