Full wheel geometry setup - Thanks and reccomendation

Post by Rory »

Big thanks to Tony of www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk for setting up my wheel geometry today. The full checkup/correct setup has complimented my Tein Supers Street suspension. My car handles even better now! Feels a lot less twitchy on the back end. I now have a straight steering wheel and hopefully my uneven rear tyre wear will now be sorted! :D

A visit to see Dr Bones is highly recommended - to improve your handling and save you a shed load of £££ in reduced tyre wear.

Tony designed me a custom geometry set-up for track days (at no expense to me!) and the handling is just amazing!

ps. With the equipment he has at the moment, you need approx 10mm gap between the top tyre and the base of the wheel arch to fit the cameras.

Glad to hear hes so well recomended, i'm going there just as soon as my new wheels turn up. I've already had my polybushes fitted, and he's fitting camber adjust bolts. Cant wait, as i'm kinda down to the wire on my current tyres!

I've used Tony for my lexus.

Will also be paying a visit in the near future with my MR2 :)

With the sw20 anyone should be able to sort it easy enough its only adjustable for toe nothing else, family hatch suspension :( Mk1s & Mk3s have more adjustment I believe. If you have coilovvers with adjustable top mounts then a specialist setups a good idea. I have seen lots of great reports generally about wheels-inmotion.

Does he have a flat ramp? I want to take my tubby over there for a trackday setup but it's VERY low at the front.

My Rev2 with Tein Coilovers and my greddy lip got on the ramps ok after a couple of minutes messing around with some bits of wood. My lip is very low to the floor on the front. I havent got a current photo of just how low my lip is at the moment but believe me with stock wheels and coilovers set to very low at the front you cant get much lower!

Yep. Its a bit scuffed underneath but nothing too bad. You can only see the scrapes when you look under it.

ask him when you ring him. He does have extension pieces and the like.

Also, I think theres a limit to the clearance in the arch, due to the machinery. He'll be able to advise over the phone :)

You need approx 10mm gap between the top of the tyre and the bottom of the arch. If you can put your fingers flat on top of the tyre you'll be OK.

If Tony can't do it there are other centres which have the right kit. Check this link - "Trusted Centres" towards the bottom of the page:
