i know mate, but i thought that just applied to online transfer - didnt realise i would be able to go in to the bank and physically pay in to your account, will be done this morning and will pm you to let you know.

just out of curiosity i phoned the hsbc national number - NO hsbc is open saturday

Ahhh well thats what you get for phoning a call centre.

For example, the HSBC Branch finder confirms that:

darlington - Prospect place - Sat 0930 -1230
Burnley - 0930 - 12:30

etc etc etc

Yep its not a counter service but they DO have a consultant on site that can actually take money and pay into an account via the paying in machine, they have their own card, and as long as the paying in slip is completed there is no problem, my wife pays in for me all the time using HER account card.
