.... my beastie VS E46 M3!

Post by bodleytunes »

Well M3's get my heart pumpin, everyone i see on the private racetrack is ALWAYS up for showing me up and showing off its 343hp!!

anyway they have always panned me, and there exhausts sound weird n tinny dont they!?? kind of like a bucket of rusty bolts in the exhaust !! lol

anyway i think im not gonna stay in fron of this beast coz its a bit too fast and twill be no use.

So hes right up behind me and i pull over slowly and he goes past with a roar. We both approach roundabout... traffic :(

waitin for wat seems like an age for the old dears to get the hell out and not HOG THE OUTSIDE LANE for no reason!!!! well annoying..

anyway, suddenly its clear, and with both go for it full throttle in 2nd and im keepin up, maybe slightly catchin and then 3rd and hes maybe got the edge but its so little that there aint much in it!!! :P

Anyway theres mor traffice so only get up to about 80 odd leptons and i give up, coz i dont wanna go too fast and these things will kill me after 3rd gear!!

But hey im happy, i kinda kept up with an M3 in the lower gears! altho i think it was driven by a bit of an old git who prolly didnt know how to drive it to the fullest!

8)

I bet if it was a traffic light drag my mr2 would KICK its german ass to sixty, with all my grip and lighter car!

M3 race

Post by adam maclean »

I managed to keep up with an M3 with no problems. Even with nackered breaks and bouncing and slightly off balanced wheels, i couldnt resist the challenge and was very happy with the result. If i didnt have to pull off to my mates house it would have been a different story. Over priced, over weight and Over rated.

maybe my cars fooked then, but i reckon he was slightly quicker after 2nd gear. then the gap would probly just open.

you're obviously better than me at launching as the best ive got is 14.3 and i'm not running standard boost. think i got a 14.8 or something against the M3

it was my 2nd ever go.

Its ez to launch the 2, it grips like fook.

Now my datsun 200sx is a different story, a lot lighter at the back, but if u get it right, that launches nicely too!!

mate if you only got 14.8 with tweaked boost then either your car is under performing, uve got horrendous tyres, there was oil on the strip or you were boggin down on launching.

get them revs up!

thats the problem mate, revs too high resulting in about a second of wheelspin!

need to practice really but just never get chance.

Just to compare, JJ got 13.1 with 15psi and a rev2.

Most should be well into the 13s i wudve thought, dependent upon engine quality or launching.

What was your 60foot time? as that shows the launch.

Just to compare, I got 14.7 @ 90.5 in a stage1 200SX (S13) 2.211-60ft
I think i was only runnin circa 200hp, i had massively blowing turbo gaskets, standard exhaust, standard tyres and 13.5psi boost.

btw stage1 is a chip/fmic at 15psi but i only had 13.5psi for some reason :( i should have been runnin 230-240 but theres no way i was coz my terminals were abismal.

This was at york tho, think its grippier than the pod?

Come on Danny

I got 14.3 wit just decat and exhaust and missing 4th gear *crunch*, 'get in you bas%$^d' at MR2004, and got 14.35 at santa pod with my AVC-r set up all wrong and hitting fuel cut in 2/3/4 gear

Have you got the special TuRD 'long throw' gear shift or something
