MK1: Recommended garage in Sheffield

Post by andyb »

my kyb shocks arrived today for my mk1(!) - it looks like I'll be paying somebody to fit them as I have no time ... any recommendations in the Sheffield area? plus any idea of time involved / cost?

Thanks,
Andy

Andy,

Are you in South Yorkshire or Derbyshire? If Derbyshire whereabouts?

Icsunonove :

Your Blue Supercharger, does it have white wheels? And are you actually around the Derby area? I saw a rather nice mica blue with white wheels one sunday night a couple of months ago. :)

Nope, mine has 6-spoke silver alloy wheels. They are 16" and I am looking to change them back to 15". Hasn't been on the road for about 6 months. I live in Ripley.

Andy, I can fit your kyb kit but don't have a flat bed to set it up. Would need to get a 3rd party to adjust the setttings, Tom

Didn't trust my cars to any garage, apart from when I was working seven days a week and had no time to do my own repairs/maintenance.

One little garage I can recommend is Champion and Emmett. It is in Hunters Bar, near the Lescar pub (if you know the area). They are not specialists or tuning experts, but they are (or were) experienced mechanics who did a thoroughly decent job. Their rates were also very reasonable.
