Worth repairing? No quote given for labour, estimate?

I've got a 98 with 104k on the clock. Had the clutch, timing belt, and hose from hell done last year. Also had the sills welded and one replaced last year.

At the back, anti-rollbar is snapped. Both shocks need replacing. There's a hole in the subframe that needs welding, and the brake shielding is almost completely missing.

For little things, the boot is leaking, the alloys are scuffed, and it probably needs two new tyres.

I've thrown quite a bit of money at this but I'm not really mechanically inclined so I have to pay people. There's still a month left on the MOT but I need to make a decision.

Any idea how much this lot would cost to fix? Is it worth it?

which spec exactly? 1998 import (NA or turbo) is worth a fair bit now so absolutely fix. "HFH" suggests a turbo?

Even UK market Rev5's are going up, very hard to find a good one for peanuts these days like you used to.

You don't need the brake shielding

The shocks aren't hard to change, nor is the ARB, are you sure the arb is snapped? and its not just the drop links?

For the shocks most of price is going to be the shocks themselves. Maybe a bit of time if the droplinks are shagged but thats gonna add a bit on top

The rear subframe has a hole in it??

They said the subframe will need welding because of the hole. With the ARB he said "the anti roll bar link is broken", on the phone he said snapped. I didn't realise there were two parts.

When he says the arb link is broken he's more than likely talking about these

Which are a pain to remove on crusty cars and are a failure point, not a massively expensive part but probably the old one will need to be cut off.

The subframe thing is more worrying, I've never seen one rusted so bad it needed welding tho. Can you get pictures of it?

Drop links and dampers are a simple DIY if you're into that thing.

The subframe welding may be where things start to add up, unfairly in my opinion. I have in excess of 10 years welding experience in many backgrounds and would be happy to advise you if you can send me some photos.

if the boot is leaking, check that it's not all rusted through esp in the pockets heading down into the wheel arches. That's what killed mine in the end, enough was enough

Mine had rust there but it was relatively inexpensive to get fixed compared to the rest of the bodywork I had done haha.

Mine has that issue, I have a doner MR2 that i was going to check out and see if I can cut and shut it for those parts lol.

True it wasn't but I also want to get rid of it. I had an oppertunity/decision to make. Fix the failures or strip adn rebuild. Ihave chosen strip adn rebuild.

Not going as fast as I would like, but its winter and I am away a lot. Which sucks.
