Floppy wing mirror - help needed with fix

Post by Basirk »

Hi all,

My wing mirror has gone all floppy! It feels like the spring that normally keep it in position has broken, so it moves backwards and forwards with no resistance.

Does anyone know what can be done to fix it? Can I simply remove the mirror and replace a spring with one from a scrappy, or does the whole unit need replacing?

Thanks!

Fixed now. A U-clip that holds the big spring in place had pinged off. Needed some fettling, but it's now back in place. I would add some pictures, but looks like that's not possible here :(
