Catch cans - Installation

Post by Dale_V »

Im looking to buy one for my NA. what is involved in the instalation?

Also is there anything I should look out for when buying one, such as the hose sizes?

Anyone reccomend a specific one for the NA?

Don't bother... your better off fitting a breather filter to the end of the PCV - vent line coming from the cam cover, then plugging the one that goes into the throttle housing.

Cost effective and no more oil being pulled through by the engine ! :)

doing that caused cold idling problems on a few n/as i know of, whereas catch cans worked effectively.

p.s. 11mm hose for n/a 15mm for turbo

Understandably, the setup of the engine is designed to be sucking in the gas from the PCV line, but you should be able to compensate this by turning the base line idle control screw .. opening the air channel a tad more.

Totally up to the individuals preferance.. though installing a catch can is quite a considerable cost offset in comparison to a breather filter.

Both work, one has more bling ! 8)
