Link G4+ Xtreme - which mapper?

Post by J-1 »

Looking to get mapping booked for late January / early February and would like to hear peoples suggestions and opinions for mapping my 5SGTE.

Willing to travel anywhere in the UK for mapping, if need be.

It's only 439 miles. That's nearly half my run in miles

What is your run in procedure?

Please please don't do 1000m gently!

Still to discuss this with in full with Peter. He'll keep me right.

What's your recommendation for running in?
As this is my first built / mapped engine, I lack experience / knowledge in this area.

Done my engine break in recently and opted for the hard break in from the get go after bringing the oil temp up, checking for leaks etc. Doing progressively harder pulls and lots of engine braking. Have yet to do a compression or leak down test but it's been driven to its limits and feels great.

You need to follow new cam break in too.

Just a side note at Honda every car gets a hard break in on the rollers.

Chris at Dynatune in East Kilbride works with Link. Comes recommended.

I've got Link atm and got mines done at Dynatune, I've not had any issues with the car apart from an underlying issue (only found it at Crail) which he fixed for me for next to nothing so another vote for Chris :thumleft:

He's on my friends list if you want to have a chat with him :thumleft:

Had a look round for mappers and decided that I'm going to use Matty at Wallace Performance in Aberdeen. He maps Links frequently and has also mapped MR2's in the past.
Plus they're not too far from me.

Whenever I've had cars mapped I've gone with someone who knows the car and who has mapped the Ecu before. Messing around any other way hasn't worked for me.
