Wow.. I am jealous that you have the time to do all this.

My stuff always takes far longer than it should.

oh and you will notice im sure the tyres are covered in paint and im sure youre thinking why didnt you mask them off?

you dont need to. take 1 paintbrush and 1 bottle of fairy liquid
coat tyre sidewall liberally in fairy liquid
paint wheel.

when you come to clean the car once all is done take pressure washer and aim at wheel. paint will disappear...

magic :)

Sounds like a bit of a fairytale to me.

Pics all work for me. I think you are showing just about each and every one of us up with the progress you are making on this car. :thumleft:

sorted out the interior, it now has a working radio!! well i just get static but that might well be because i have no ariel... new ariel on its way once thats sorted and ive put all the trim back on the front bumper and refitted the undertrays then all will be well....

another idiot previous owner moment.

the last several owners obviously thought pure tap water was a acceptable engine coolant. with the result of which the coolant was brown and there was sludge everywhere. im on my 3rd flush now and am still getting brown water out. on top of that the cooling system was over pressurizing and the previous owner couldn't work out why. my forst thought was head gasket but it isnt. turns out the pipe to the expansion bottle and the little filter at the end of the pipe where blocked with brown sludge. blew it all out with a air line and all is well. sits about half way up the gauge and no more coolant loss through the cap...

so nearly 3 months after buying it... iv finally got the V5c on its way to me.

the idiot P/O never sent it off (dont know why not, it has cost him 6 months tax!) so i sent off a v62 form last month and got a letter last week saying they are processing it. today i checked the online tax/mot checker and it is now showing as SORN :)

i'm fairly relieved, i was certain it was kosher because the v5 i saw had all the watermarks and matched the address etc that i was buying it from but i was still fairly nervous even with the HPI check telling me all the numbers matched etc.

so, should receive it in a day or two, then all ive got to do is stick the new vinyl number plate on the front and put the front inner wheel arches back in and its ready for the road.

except ive got to flat and polish it yet. that will HAVE to wait, ive run out of time and need to start pulling my land-rover apart so i can get some much needed £££££'s in the bank....

took it round the block yesterday to get it out of the way whilst i put the land rover into the garage. its sooo much better to drive. no banging clonking or lurching about it goes where you point it and all the torque steer has gone. and GOOD NEWS! it fits over speed bumps.

now to strip and sell an old friend in pieces....

its already half stripped

1st question or two.

can i use my n/a gearbox with a 3vz-fe v6?

can i convert a auto engine to manual by chucking a manual flywheel at it (im sure ive read you can)

and can i make the n/a flywheel fit?

and thats just to start with....

Yes you can use your n/a box with a 3vz, yes you can fit a manual flywheel to the 3vz but the pcd needs altering and for clutch setup your best using a mix of turbo flywheel and pressure plate with an n/a friction disc.

All the v6 information you could want is over at twobrutal.co.uk
