Engine mapping. Kent. Motec ECU.

Post by shane34 »

Anyone got any recommendations, I say Kent but if I need to travel then so be it. I think I'm ready for the dyno haha. Fensport did the 1st tune but a bit has changed since, they are also 200 + miles away[/quote]

In kent...

Talk to JF automotive maidstone... really good bunch,
i use them for my mapping..
They have mapped a veyron and aventador

http://www.jfautomotive.co.uk/

they do all custom mapping as well standalones etc.. really is worth giving them a shout.. they have a good rolling road

just give them a shout and see what you think :thumleft:

i'll be using them to map my v6 when i start playing with that

I don't see the point on skimping on mapping because of distance, you know it will be worth it in the end.

btw i dont think Abbey Motorsport do motec

This is what I'm thinking Odin, I would like it to be tuned by someone with 500+ Bhp expirence, I'm not up to speed on how everything should be done, knock det timings etc, but I want to no it's in safe hands haha.

Been mentioned to me that Ryan griffin? @ 2 bar

Ryan's moved to Saudi and he only tunes Syvecs now...he has a vested interest in it.

If you want top experience on MoTeC then give Dave Rowe a call (EPS Motorsports)...he's certainly got the experience and reputation, and I love his no nonsense approach to mapping...no bullsh*t!

Just google his name if you wanna see the caliber of cars he works on...

Well this sucks haha

Fensport is 12th September. Dave Rowe is to busy to be able to book a date, jfauto can not help. I can't see to find the web site for predictor permformace, when you put in predator or performance the search find so many company's

Any other suggestions only need it checked over to make sure it's all good and get a whp figure

Not sure if they do Motec but Hayes Engineering/Dynotech are meant to be very good. They'll likely be doing my next map.

September 12th is only a tad under 5weeks away, can't see the problem with that as for reputable tuners there is usually a waiting list :?

Gullzter your probably right, tho I expect my drive to them will be actually longer then they spend on the car lol

Visiting Simon at predator performance next week, the car is mapped and running great by fensport, so tuning is not really required, but I need someone competent to actually check it over ensure its running correctly before I go to the strip/ dyno, for example my water meth has never activated the tank is still at the same level when julian owned the car probably close to 2 years. I've activated it by plugging my laptop in. Again I have no idea when this is due to trigger.
I've done a few changes. exhaust and rerouted the inter cooler so I shouldn't expect a remap for this alone.

yeah really good mate. I was only interested in checking the car over AFR Det etc. so it wasnt a mapping session as such

I was there for about 3-4 hours

in that time he fixed

Inter cooler fans, these were on at half speed so the relays kept burning out. no idea for why these were set for only half. working perfectly now and no horride clicking noise
Flat spot at 1.5 rpm
aquamist was turned on the ECU. since this car was mapped this was never programmed to activate. This might not be required but its now working.
Tweaked the fuel economy loads more could be done but i was only after a check up.
check for Det and the AFRs

out come was there is loads of potential to increase the power. New his stuff recommend him.

What ECu you running?

Great! That's good news to hear thanks.

I'm going for the link g4 and gt3076. What power are you making now? You're on the same turbo, right?

I'm 100% going meth injection too after Xmas.
