If you wanted to just pop over the 300hp mark and run less boost, is there a turbo that's slightly more efficient than a CT20, but still remains on stock ECU without needing a remap? Perhaps rebuilding a CT20 is an option?
I don't want to go down the forged route again this time.

I ran a TD05 on standard set up, ran fine, it was stronger than ct20b for sure, wouldn't like to estimate what power it was putting down at what boost but here is a video of it at 1-1.1 bar
I sold it to sheppy, he then sold it to another member, maybe worth tracking the buyer down because they may not have used it, would be a cracking purchase for you.

A CT20 will do 300bhp easy just stick with that, no point spending loads of money on a bigger turbo and not run anymore power from it. Especially if you don't want to go forged.
Spend the money on better brakes and tyres and go even faster.

I have a TD06 20G on at the moment with wastegate pressure. I've heard they are good to around 14psi. But thats no use really as they don't get into their zone until 20psi.
Which leads to the next question....
The stock ECU will bang out a CT20 @ 300bhp / 1.2 bar no problem.
Why change? The jump up is RATHER large in cost.

Keep boosting the ct20b until it spits it's guts out. It makes 300 crank hp easily. After that rebuilt it with billet wheels, and be capable of pushing well over 300whp.

When you say rebuild with billet wheels, how much is this and is there a favoured place to get it done? What kind of cost?

Don't think there's anyone in the UK that does a billet CT20. There are some options in the us but they want a CT20 core which is a bit much to ship a broken turbo across the sea.
I've got an old HKS TD05-16 with a billet wheel from owens, not massive power but it spools fast and kicks harder than a ct20. Wouldn't recommend, but I got the turbo kit for cheap and it has a similar compressor map as a gt28. Was more interested in fast spoolup than power anyway.

I'm currently selling my old gt28 setup that I ran on standard fuelling and injectors.
Made 343bhp on that setup and it felt mega.

ats ct21 is an option, but probably looking at 1k all in id say to get it over here.
plus they need your old turbo.
stock 20bs are pretty decent on track and drag.
get tuning right and you will surprise plenty of cars!

That's pretty interesting. I remember only a month or so back, someone said that nobody in the UK does billet conversions on CT20s. Would they bolt right on with stock ECU too?

you would want to keep an eye on AFRs if fitting a turbo larger than stock.

It's a gauge and separate o2 sensor.
Assuming you have a downpipe you should have a spare port to fit the sensor at the bottom of it.
It needs to read afrs about 2-3foot from the turbo.
Handy, all the aftermarket downpipes have this bung welded in.
Unless of course you have a blitz downpipe and you may not be so lucky.

LOL typical, I think that's exactly what I've got. I might just stick a voltmeter gauge on to fill the gap
