Power steering pump always on

Ok so I have a Link ECU running the engine now and am just trying to sort out some minor issues.

The ECU will be pumping out a tacho/speed signal on one of the pins which I am yet to wire into the dash but I was wondering is there anything else the power steering pump ECU needs to work properly again?

I had a look at the wiring diagram and found there were 3 pins from the engine ECU that went to the PS ECU - can anyone explain to me what signals they are meant to be...or would I be better of just going to a manual rack, save a bit of weight with less things to break in future?
