[Mk2] [Turbo] Where have all the mk2 turbo exhausts gone??

Post by craig »

Mongoose have discontinued the turbo version of their exhaust, but still make the na version.

Very rarely do the second hand jap makes come up for sale apart from the all common blitz nur spec.

The only readily available exhaust for a mk2 turbo is a japspeed!

Unless you go to ko racing or berk in the us and get stung on import duty and shipping.

I guess it's because the Chinese market of japspeed et al has killed the market by out pricing the top brands.....

I really want a twin exhaust on my car, but my only available option is a japspeed. :?

Half the problem is demand, as there aren't that many turbos about anymore and the ones that are about tend to have already had this modification done, there isn't much point in making something that isn't going to sell.
Build an exhaust for a vxr or st then it may be worth it though as there are a lot more potential customers :eye:

The japspeed is one of my favourites looks wise, maybe only the departure 2 and tcs ?? or TC something :-k beating it..... :-k

With the amount you have spent on your car your hardly going to break the bank on importing one, find one you like and just buy it, struggling to accept import charges then I recommend having a few beers before pressing the buy it now button

Agreed about the demand aspect. Shame really.

MR2 Turbo exhausts used to be 10 a penny!

Thought about getting one made, but I reckon I'm easily going to be into £600+

My custom HKS was £290 (buying the backbox from an Evo 5 and making it fit the Mongoose flexi)

Maybe I'll just sling on a Japspeed till my ultimate desired exhaust of a Departure 2 Pro turns up.

ebay exhausts are bought in bulk for like £30 a pop.
xspower, japspeed etc etc, all the same.

i would never fork out £200 on this cheaply made exhaust.
which never sits right and does indeed rust out.

people selling these exhausts are making a killing.

buy something with actual data, quality materials, like the berk exhaust if you cant hunt down some jdm exhaust in good condition.

Japspeed exhaust purchased.

**Dons flame suit**

I had one on my old tin top for 2 years. Car was ungaraged. Sat outside in all weathers. Never rusted. Came up well with Autosol.

Not the best exhaust out there, but meh.

I actually didn't mind my old one, and had it on the car for 2 years! :thumleft:

Dave (l1ca) also has one on his car, and it sounded rather nice on last years Le Mans trip.

Twin turbo V6 Noble, and a V8 Audi RS6. Nice recipe

I've had both. Both great exhausts. That D2 Pro will sell for top money! :thumleft:
