[Mk2] [Generic] boot spring failed - damn that boot lid is heavy

Post by raptor95GTS »

was closing the bootlid the other day and it made a strange pinging noise on closing. Didn't think much of it til I tried to open the boot later and it was not opening easily (no spring assist). Am I right in saying the spring catch should be over the edge where the black circle is and not where it is as shown by the red? Can this be fixed by putting the spring back into the black position??

Hey Allan! I imagine that the spring has pinged off but given the strength of the assist you may struggle to get it back to where it should be.

I think I have a spare in the garage, will be up your way next Sunday if that's any good to you?
