High idle after rebuild

Post by acf8181 »

Just pt my rev3 NA back together following HG replacement, and upon starting it initially idled at 2250-2500rpm fluctuating, which stabilized but was still at about 1600rpm when warm.

I'm thinking it's likely i've plugged something back in wrong, or forgot to tighten a bolt properly (though i have checked).

Any idea's on where to start looking?

An air leaks the most likely issue so carefully check all rubber hoses/vacuum hosed

ok, checked over and pretty sure it's right

have got a 3SGE toyota manual pdf, but of course it's for a UK car, and being an import i don't have an EGR (and thus only have one VSV).

so my only query is that the air vacuum hose from the end of fuel rail pressure regulator should go straight to the ACIS (on UK it goes via the other VSV)?

Sounds obvious but has the throttle cable pre-tension been adjusted?
