[Rev 3 turbo] Shot blasting rear subframe

Post by JD »

I'm dropping the rear subframe. It looks to be in pretty decent shape but will have a look properly when it's off. Ideally I want it blasted and powder coated but due to shape an size is this likely to be cost effective or should I just clean it up and paint it?

I did this on mine around 5 years ago. Cost was around £80 from what I remember. It looks good for a while, but I'm still to be convinced about the durability of powder coat.

Next time I'd blast it and POR15 it I reckon.

I have done mine. It still looks great. Just tell whoever is doing it to copper slip the parts where the suspension arms are going into and plug the holes for the theads
