Rebuild

Post by Wisey91 »

Hi all, was wondering if I could get some info on whether there is any mr2 specialist around the hereford/Worcester area (doesn't have to be close, but would be nice), or any reputable garage some one would suggest to carry out an engine rebuild. Also what kind of price I would be looking at for parts and labour for a forged build.
Cheers, Rik

Hi bud,

Im in Southampton, the only person I trust is Peter at Sbits - Barnsley.

I know, its a distance but if you wanted a very professional and quality service - Pete is your man... :thumleft:

I visit Pete once a year, to ensure my Beast is running properly.

There's loads of places can do it, woodsport, sbits, rogue, yvs. Being on the outskirts of wales there'll be a fair few places build cars for amateur racers/rally drivers aswell it depends what level of build your looking for

Thanks peeps. I've found that quite a lot of places don't like working on these cars or want anything to do with them. I'm not looking for huge specs thomp, but would like something that would be capable of 350-400

Give Simon at YVS Performance a call, the only specialist you will not hear any bad comments about...

I'll be heading here for polybushing and health check soon, my dad (ex-mechanic) and his brother who is currently a mechanic have been to have a look around and it seems like a really decent place.

Yeah top idea! Tim built my engine, made 465bhp! That was with a gt3071r at 1.6bar!

He is very good, Always helped me out over the phone when I needed it too. I got my pistons from him, should have bought my turbo kit from him aswell.
