My Mr2 Gts...... Sprint, track, weekend car.

Post by em1_matt »

Mr2

Hi all

Been on here for a little while now but thought I would post a brief description and a few pics of my Mr2 and what she is like now.

Anyway it started with me having a rather unfreindly s14a 200sx that was too hard, to low, drift bodykit etc and it wasn't an enjoyabke venture to drive. So I opted to sell and get a daily driver honda CRV for abit of a work horse and then a 2 seater. I looked at many options, another 200sx, mx5, subaru etc then a nice Mr2 turbo popped up about 1 mile away from my house. So off I went to take a look.

Had a few niggles but it is one of the cleanest I have seen for a while and just had to have it.

that's where I start really. I have many more plans to do the next is to slightly raise the suspension, underseal properly and refurb the wheels.

First off was to get the car home

I noticed a few things, dash lights were poo, tyres were terrible and generally just needed a clean so off I set to get some modifications for her.

Haha thank you for the reply, I actually really like the foglights nice tone a little differnt however they will be going soon and replaced by customer brake cooking ducts like the integra version of the js racing.

Looks smart! I too would do away with the fogs and scoop. I'd also wire that rear fog light into the clusters, but it's your car so who cares. Enjoy!

Thanks for the reply mate. As stated the fogs are soon to be brake ducts the scoop is staying :-P and the rear fog has already gone in to the reverse light :-)

Excuse the dirt as a bunch of us got up at 6:30am to miss the traffic for an early morning blast. Rear fog has gone

The yellow fogs look pretty cool, i'd love a set of brake ducts like the ones on the integra though! :thumleft:

Thanks ADS. Yes AD08's are great rubber, most import thing in my eyes.

I really should have weighed the Fujitsubo but never did in the end however it is very light and such an epic sound.

i think the fogs would work if you ditched the orange tobs and sidelights (got clear ones).
that orange and yellow just dont go, in my opinion anyway.
scoop is only doing one thing, hurting, not aiding, performance. but if you like the looks, thats fine.

i wondered how your going about the brake ducts?
as you will need to cut into the arch.
there really isnt alot of room when the wheels are on lock to fit ducting?
it would certailny have to be very snake like ducting, and small to get to the discs.

very snake like then.

i wonder whats needed to modify the oem trays and arch to snake this around.
as thats obviously a custom undertray and i cant be sure whats happening with the arch in those images.

seems like a nice little project though, i can imagine this would be ALOT easier to do/test with a lift like that guy though, ha.

good luck with it.
