I think in reality they are all much of the muchness. The only thing I would say is don't go for a foam filter.

Something like an Apexi or similar is good.

Agreed but discontinued you can get replacement filters from nengun I think.. so a second hand one is probably the way to go.

For a road car, foam filters suck... they don't really filter soo much, so leave that for racing cars where that last fraction of performance wins over engine longevity.

Paper and cotton cone filters will filter similarly and the small differences in filtering / performance are a lottery. Brand name and price say very little about the filter and you see £20 filters with better group test results than £120 filters.

What you might get with a £120 filter is better build quality. But given the filters will get dirty at the same rate, I buy cheap and replace when I do a service (like pretty much every OEM out there). After 5 years, I'll have spent the same money as if I bought a branded filter, but the filter on my car will have been in a much better condition for 4 of those 5 years :thumleft:

The boring answer is the stock airbox, sure pete said they don't become restrictive until over 400bhp

Stocl air box is boring though, like you say.

No induction noise. :(
