[Mk2] [NA] Subaru eibach springs on an MR2

Post by Downes »

Iv stumbled across some free Subaru eibach springs and just wondered if anyone knew if they would fit on the mr2? Also if no one knows, how would I tell if they would other than trying to fit them.

Thanks :thumleft:

Are you serious?

If they don't fit, don't worry, there are 549,819 listings on ebay for car suspension springs.

Or you could just buy some made for an MR2?

I guess this is what happens when schools are on holiday. Image

You might be able to make a nice table lamp out of them..

or fit them to a Subaru.

Or a table lamp..

So many options.

erm, Is the scooby not a mcpherson strut setup? so as long as the cups on the scooby and Toyota struts are the same size and the length of the spring is equivalent then Yes they will fit.

The spring rates are likely to be completely wrong too, as I would imaging the fronts are designed to take the weight of an engine and the back obviously doesn't, but that doesn't mean they will not fit. O:)

Or I could be talking complete balox

I successfully fitted the springs from a set of ball-point pens to my BC coilovers... the car's ride is paper-smooth now and I'd say it's the car's signature mod. On the BC springs the handling wasn't anything to write home about, but now I'm never pen-sive when I'm out on a spirited drive :thumleft:

It was funny guys granted when you know the facts but be kind. New member here, 2nd post and perhaps he just knows very little. Perhaps very young?
Perhaps he comes seeking knowledge not ridicule (unless he too knows the facts and it's a wind up). We're all completely ignorant of everything to begin...

Welcome OP whomever. They won't fit as is said above but plenty of affiliates here or posts in the for sale section where you can pick up a set that will.
Have a read through carbibles.com for some good background info on car mechanics etc. Had the 2 long?

doesnt sound too silly what happended if they did fit and were a stiffer spring like he wanted??

maybe he was just matching springs but everyone jumps and slates him.

I would never have done that but if I knew the KG of the spring and it fitted and was what i needed to run stiffer or softer and they fitted why not use them??

bandwagan junkies!!!

At least he knows not to buy them and save up for or look for a bargin on ebay for mr2 lowering springs :thumleft:

Ps. Not quite understanding something is no reason not to post up on this forum , you might get a bit of ribbing but we will see you right in the end O:)
