What does a mk2 na rev5 weigh?

Post by pistol pete »

As above..
I'm looking at low-loading the mr2 to and from tracks now.. their weight is less than a car and trailor, and in my opionion a bit safer for the distances i'm travelling, and i dopn't need a 3 tow car in the house hold..

So wanted to know want does a mk2 mr2 weigh in at (UK na rev 5) with some fuel in oil etc

want to check weights so i don't go over..
cheers

1210kg / 2668lb according to this website:
(can't post URLs yet so add the regular prefix) carfolio.com/specifications/models/car/?car=185009
(1270/2800 for the turbo)
That doesn't account for the chip packets & beer cans under the seat though!

1210 is about right, with T Bar's being a bit heavier. So allow for 1300KG I guess?

A cheap way of finding out exactly is by taking your car to your local scrap yard and give them a few quid to use their weigh bridge. :thumleft:

what a terrifying thought. just imagine, before you've had time to explain that you just want to weigh the car not scrap it, the scrapper thrusts a filthy fiver into your hand and forcibly ushers you out the gate with some vague directions as to where a bus stop might be. bye bye car :(

scrap yards make me shudder :(

of course in the real world, that's probably quite a good idea :thumleft:

Didn't think they were open to the public. At least that's what I read last time on the gov website.

I know it's a bit different, but my rev3 turbo with me, half a tank of fuel and some sound system in it was 1410kg on a public weighbridge. I'm about 85kg. Probably about 25kg of fuel. You can't rely on manufacturer published weights in the real world.

1220 -1240kg for a sunroof model Rev5 is about right.

As above, add roughly ~20-25kg for the T-Bar option.

Add ~40kg for the turbo.
