My REV3 TURBO £200 PROJECT! NOW FULLY REPAINTED AND KITTED!!

Post by dan mkii »

Well it all started by chance really wasnt looking for an mr2 or even another car lol.

At the time I was working for toyota as a technician where I had been for 6 years +
I always said if an mr2 turbo was to be traded in i would buy it.

Well as luck would have it I got wind of one being traded in for just £200 !!

So I said I would have it without seeing it. When It turnt up an old japenese gentlemen had the car and was trading it in for a new prius lol.

When it turnt up the red paint was pink the osr light was cracked and it had some awful fox racing 15" non staggered alloys but no rust atall and was almost completley original except for pivot oil pressure and boost gauge and an hks urbo timer. It had stacks of receipts including rebuilt gearbox etc ..

so I got it home and in the garage and started to clean it up (ready to be sold on) so this is where it all started. Which was 2 years ago ...

And then it looked like this

I then turnt my attention to the mechanicals which meant replacing the cambelt tensioner and iffy pully , new alternator belt , new steering arm .
Aswel as new plugs leads fuel filter dizzy cap and rotor arm.
Along with some mods including an ebay side mount with custom made pipeing as the cold pipes are crap. And an hks filter and intake pipe and I picked up a new blueflame exhaust in here which the seller conveniently forgot to tell me it had a blowwing flexi!

The wheels where then overhauled by cardwhore and lowered on apex springs which didnt lower the car atall lol .

I then got some coilovers from turbo tom ... tien super streets and swaped over my plate

So that brings me to current day theres been alot more work in between but im bored of writing now (belive it or not) and uploading pictures!

I'm sorry but this is by far the best £200 I've ever seen spent. That was an outstanding buy! How it looks now though is equally as good! Lovely car you have got their mate... Really like it! :thumleft:

rikh77 im not sure the fitment is spot on but there are no markings on them.
I think there the rouge version.

Donato I had them done by a friend of mine who used to work for arch enemy he cut and shaped them so that all the screw/bolts go back in place.

wilki thanks mate...just need to get it in for a complete repaint now.

200 Notes!! Awesome...... :thumleft:

You should see some of the utter crap I have bought over the years for £1K plus - £200 for a Rev 3 tubby is crazy lol.

The 2 is looking really nice now pal! Nice to see updates once skirts/spats are painted.

Keep up the good work.....

Im still trying to come to terms with someone whom trades in their Rev 3 Turbo for a Prius

Cheers Craig
