Post by Mr2z »

Hi all I am in TWO minds about what alloys to go for AND WHAT COLOUR FOR my mrk2
The car is blue

sorry in advance as i am new to the group it wont let me put in url

i like these
both from rimluxe.co.uk

Lenso BSX Silver in 15" 7j front 8j back ( what offset should i go for)

or
Axe EX8 Red 15 8j front and back ( again what offset would suit best)

i am looking for an aggressive stance look
any advice and opinion much appricated[/img]

Welcome.

I would recomend a staggered setup for the MK2. Wider at the rear.. 16" Wheels are the best bet..

This wheel calculator should help with widths and offsets http://mr2.gordaen.com/wt_calc.php

Not a fan of cheap quality wheels, my advice would be to source a decent quality set 2nd hand rather than buy new.

Like, Axe EX8 Red 15 look nice , I had 8jj offset 35 front and 9jj offset 38 with a 5mm spacer fitted to the rear on mine if you check out my pics, I thought my car had a good stance, did have to shave my arches on the rear though. easy enough with a dremol a cutting wheel

Pic .. http://www.imoc.co.uk/forums/garage.php ... e_id=18577

I had a 10mm spacer kit for the rear, just never got round to fitting it lol

There are loads of decent wheels on ebay at the moment. It just depends what you like the look of. These are a popular choice and seem to have perfect mr2 fitment but will ride a bit harder being 17". I personally prefer 16".

I like SA3's but not sure if this fitment will work on mr2's

Good price if they will fit and look clean.

I owned a set off these Advan avs wheels before my blitz-03 I wonder if they are my old wheels lol. great looking wheels well worth a look could be painted any colour

And at the end of the day there advan  \:D/ O:)

The black SA3's super advan would fit fine, mabe a 3mm spacer on the front and 5mm spacer on the rear 8)

Agree, 16" would be what I'd go with.

My Supra came with 18" AVS AV5's fitted, they are heavy wheels and brake caliper clearance can be an issue due to the design of the spokes. The SA3's are much lighter in weight and look great on an MR2 IMO.

I love the black advan, agree with you guys 16 is ideal for the mr2. From past experience on my fto went from 16 to 18 and boy it was like driving a different car in a bad way.

Kev how were the advan on your mr2

Both sets were Superb  SA3's were my favorite though, lovely wheels :thumleft:

Both sets and my blitz were 17" must admit I thought they drove great, mabe a small amount of tramlining every so often, nothing that ever worried me though.

All good mate :thumleft:

Where are you in East London? I'm near East Ham. Seen a few mr2's around here recently. Nice black turbo near my house actually though not had the pleasure of meeting the driver yet.
