You might even find that Toyota can still get them. If the pins are OK, that's one way to go.
Otherwise, any of the MR2 breakers should be able to supply one with a suitable length of cable (which you can solder onto the existing harness and heat shrink).

Are you sure it is corroded . Most look corroded but it could be just old crusty dried up grease .

OBD ports are very rare on SW20 MR2s.
Are you referring to the diagnostics port?

Indeed. I took it that the poster was referring to the diagnostics port.

Yes, the mechanic said he couldn't get a reading from it when plugging it in to the machine due to corrosion.

Re: ODB repair or replace?
Hmm.
I'm not sure that there is a machine!
On the Mk2s (and Mk1s) code reading is by a blink test, (not uncommon on Bosch systems of the same era). Not by a OBD2 type code reader.
The Big Green Book (Toyota workshop manual) gives details. There's a link to download it here, somewhere, or on MR2OC in the "Know Your 2" section.
Blink test doesn't have the bells and whistles of the OBD2 stuff, but has the advantage of requiring nothing more sophisticated than a paper clip.
Mk3 is OBD2.
If Mk2, wonder where he was trying to plug it in?

You need a new mechanic. the diagnostics port is covered in grease from toyota, i've never seen a corroded one, it also has a lid and is under the engine cover, out of the way of water... not sure how it could become corroded
Also a machine wont work, you read the codes by bridging terminals and counting the flashes on the dash. Your mechanic probably doesnt know this

Re: ODB repair or replace?
Strictly speaking there IS a machine or sorts that can be connected to that port, but it's something only Toyota have. It IS OBD (as OBD isn't really a standard), but it is NOT OBD2, which is the common standard in use.

With the right software and a simple cable, it's now possible to read the ODB yourself. More details at http://www.mr2oc.com/showthread.php?t=520850
