Actually I think smoking jacket, pipe and slippers could be quite amusing.

One of the suggested themes (when chatting to Chris the other weekend) was to make it an English JAE. Tea, pipes, slippers, tweed jackets, croquet competition on the "lawn"

It didn't originally, that was me messing about with it. It did expire this morning and was showing 0% against each option, despite having 9 votes. I was messing around to try and resolve that.

Unfortunately the forum hasn't recorded what option anyone voted for.

Could the poll be run again

I don't mind buying a croquet set for the stand, that will do for a bit of fun.

If it turns out to be Chaps tea and crumpets etc, does one need to bring evening attire? also would one need ones butler?

Yours

Well based on what has been said to me by various members, and in the effort to avoid there ever being a Malcolm theme, I am personally making the theme Chap/Gentleman & Lady.

So chappies, enough of this larking about. Dig out your best bib and tucker, croquet is on the lawn in ten minutes, bring the gin and tonic. And Mr Toxo, no slip on shoes at JAE, you're not the help!

Carry on!

p.s. Tea set bought for JAE already!

Dear Col. Mordecai Harrumph (rtd)

One would like to express ones appreciation for your sterling efforts ensuring standards are kept to a appropriate level, it is unfortunate that we find some of our fellow chaps unaware of the strict code of requirements for a chaps attire.

Slip on shoes SLIP ON SHOES phft, i should flaming well hope not

as per the Rules of dress, The Fine Young Gentleman

15. Thou shall not wear slip on shoes with a suit. In fact, they should be avoided.

Yours Gustav Templar, Thrapknacker III,

p.s. looking forward to breaking out the Fedora
