Alternator belt too long?

Post by SuperRedMR2 »

I'm currently running an alternator belt which I got from Unipart 825mm long.

No matter how many times I re-adjust the alternator position, the belt always squeals.

Have I got the wrong size belt or could mine have stretched?

Cheers

Are you at the end of the adjustment arm? there should be about 90 degrees flex in the belt when tight.

ps. 825cm sounds right

No its not at all. Still got half of travel on bracket.

It's now causing an electrical noise like its too tight!!

I'll get a replacement belt.
