[Mk2] [NA] Which Wheel Nuts/Lugs?

Post by mattm117 »

Guys I need your advice please,

Which wheel nuts/lugs do folk recommend for use with 15" Rays TE37. I don't fancy the actual Rays ones due to costs and fear of getting fakes.

Are Muteki any good? Any other suggestions. I don't fancy paying any more than about £40 or so if i can help it.

Any advice on where to buy from?

Cheers
Matt

I have some D1 Spec internal drive nuts on my TE37s:

Look like they'll set you back just a smidge over £50... very light and, being internal drive, the colour won't scrape off when you remove the wheels :thumleft:

Thanks guys.

I read a few horror stories about the D1 Spec ones, Richbrook ones look good being forged.

There is a maximum torque specification on the D1 Spec nuts. Basically, don't let anyone use air tools on them. But then again, you wheel nuts should be torqued correctly with a torque wrench anyway :thumleft:

internal drive nuts are a good idea since you're less likely to mark your lovely wheels when removing them.

Good point. I'm getting mine refurbished so it would be a shame to damage them.

Driftworks sell super strong internal drive wheel nuts. I've just bought a set for my Enkeis. The thing with D1 Spec nuts, which I was going to get, is that a lot of people of bad experiences using them. D1 don't recommend using them at competition level! With a lot of hard use I was going to put the wheel nuts through I didn't fancy risking it.

No worries. They are something that everyone needs to do I think. They are just Driftworks own nuts. They do produce some good quality stuff!
