Post by old bones »

ok I bought a mr2 rev2 turbo red
former owner must have been called hasie bashi
good points body work is real good no major rust visabile
but
1 nuts missing of turbo
2 dissy cap has 1 screw holding it on,,,,new one here with ht leads
3 rotor arm sreews ar u/s,,,,,,,new rotor arm here
4 tps held on with tiger seal
5 tiger seal used on throttle body
6 ac unit was hanging off, now removed
7 back wheels have different camber
8 has 17"wheels car wonder all over the place
and I drove the car home, has mot,
all above is strip apart from turbo, which is next wash intercool, pipes.
try to find a decent vacuum diagram, what vacuum pipes can be left of.
on the throttle body there is a hot water sensor and a air pipe that goes back to air filter can these be removed
car is a summer car come track car

the dreaded gumtree.lol
Friday bought new stainless bolts washers etc for dizzy cap rotor arm tps started to take turbo and cat off, bolts are rounded, has a stainless exhaust after cat about 3 1/2 bore on down pipe but workman ship is bad, as a x mot man its bad,
totally strip throttle body, can not belive the amount of tiger seal was on faces of body.
its has c26 turbo but off what I don't no its a sh replacement its been marked, brakes are real good vented grove drill discs all round,
body work real solid never been welded which is to be seen to belived as I have failed a few for tin worm before now, one of reasons I bought it body work good,
strip charcoll canister out a few other bits still getting my head round all vacuum pipes struggling to find a good detail diagram for a 1992 m2 turbo import,
once turbo fitted proper and can been gutted, may well strip the inlet get rid of tvis thingy, then I see what can be done with cam timing, with the standard pulleys.
going to get rid of 17" wheels so exchange or anybody want them, I want 16 on it,
done nothing to day so may do a bit on sunday
