Fitting shift cable bearing kit

Post by tezmc »

Hi,

I've got a shift cable bearing kit from Peter at SBITS and have just got round to fitting it. The instructions mention to lubricate the outer bearings and bell pin. Will copper grease do the trick here, or is something like moly grease needed?

Cheers

copper grease is an anti seize compound, not a lubricant. it contains copper (obviously) so shouldn't go anywhere near a bearing anyway. just use a standard multi purpose grease :thumleft:

The lubrication is purely to assist in fitting. Once fitted the inner and outer races will not move. The bearings will see to that.

I prefer olive oil because it's good for the skin.
