Well today was first time I really had a chance to play with as now has the new tyre set up

Got on a road I really know well coming home from work
And we'll it's gonna take some getting used to...
The speed is there its good and pulls well in everygear but whereas in the Mk1 you knew what speed you were doing, this I find you have to look down as it's very deceptive as to how much speed you are carrying
The handling is brilliant, I will get bigger arbs and stiffen the suspension but if handle very nice,
But it's the steering I am struggling with its so very light
I'm used to man handling the mk1 round this is so light in comparison I find you just don't get the feedback
But looking forward to brands where I can really get to learn it

Just so soft and light compared to 14years of mk1s

Really like it just got to learn it

You've really got me tempted to copy, the mkIII's are pretty cheap these days, it would be great to buy a cheap one and do the easy stuff to turn it into a track slag (without spending lots of £££)...must resist!!!!

Love it mate :thumleft: :thumleft:

Yes please :thumleft:

Not sure I can justify another track car though...that's the reason I got rid of my mkII track slag...insurance and road tax costs too much to have a car sat around doing nothing for most of the year (already got my turbo for that!!)

Looks like I'll be down Tuesday to Thursday, I'll drop you a pm to arrange a meet up closer to the time, thursday evening might be best for me :thumleft:

Well what a day...
Its been awesome.. definatly a trial by fire.
Got to brands it was chucking it down, done all the normal signing on etc
Rain stopped but very wet out on track..

Went out for sighting lap.. instantly noticed the extra grip i had over the mk1 in the wet coming out of druids..

Then out for first session.. couple of sideways moments but nothing too bad, felt very good, back end was a little loose.
Had a good chat with an instructor when i came in and dropped the rear tyres a few PSI
Back out again, the track was now in greasey stage, but car felt good pulled really well and gripped enough to upset the hyudai coupe race cars that were out testing...

had a couple more sessions before lunch, noticed the camera was dying so didn't record any of the last 2 sessions,
Then luch... THE SUN , it came out!!!
and my, that little mk3 is awesome... handled brilliant over the last few session, just building up confidence with it, building up the pace
Loads of grip to play with

The whole car was faultess, never missed a beat brakes never faded, although they did take some warming up

Last stint i had a great time playing with an elise for a few laps before traffic come in between

I must say brands can get a little "busy" so i am really looking forward to bedford in a couple of weeks as that is not so busy..

will upload the vids tonight, plenty of proper race cars out, we had a 355 race car in garage next to us

couple of pics i took
hopefully pete K will have a couple of it on track in the sighting lap

Will definatly be looking at larger ARB's and someform of suspension at some point

sounds like your doing it the right way Pete, learning the car as well as the track - no point in binning it through inexperience in the first ten minutes and then having to spend the day watching every one else having fun and wondering how you are going to get back home!

Nice guy had a chat with him

He knew his car well then or Brands hatch - possibly a combination of both.
Certainly looked like a lot of fun despite the rain or maybe because of the rain?
Makes me want to have a go -whats the noise limit at brands Pete do you know? sorry if that sounds daft as I know your running a stock pipe on the mk3 at the moment so you don't have to worry about it. Even with a bung in my mk 2 is pretty loud ( RSR single exit )
