Unfortunately, that belongs to Kongeroo (Kong) on this forum.
No details as to cause yet. Car will be at my workshop later today.
A sad sight indeed.

Kong is absolutely fine.
No idea of cause. Kong's suspicion is engine bay electrical.

Ah jeez Glad Kong is ok and got out of that unharmed.
Lucky he was attentive, as that could have easily have been far more serious
Its a crying shame though, as that car has had so much time, love, money, sweat and blood on it and was a fine example of a sorted MR2.
Gutted for you mate

What a sad day for both MR2 & Kong!
Re: Mk2 on fire, M66
Not good, no car owner wants to see this.
Re: Mk2 on fire, M66
I do hope it can be salvaged in some way.
Lots of nice kit - very unfortunate.
Sympathy for the owner...

Over the summer I passed a burnt out kit car... I wanted to cry, given the hard work that went into that! I'm equally gutted for Kong. Very sad to see this!
Re: Mk2 on fire, M66
Hey, he got out without injury. The rest is just glass and rubber - with a little bit of steel.
But yeah, there'd be man tears from me if it was my car.
