JDM race "look"??

Post by jimGTS »

havent yet decided if this is something id like to pursue, but anyone got any favourite jdm race look mr2 images, or even your own car with that look youd like to share??

preferably not decal/stickered up, just nice paint work.

my interior to starting to head this way, not stripped, but wouldnt mind seeing some cool examples of the exterior and interior shots?

exactly.
im saying they must have been your saved/downloaded images (that you have in PB).
otherwise to google those images and tag all the links would have taken a while.

I always thought you were a similar age to me Jim, does the 'race look' not seem a little more for the younger lot? :eye:

I thought your last rev5 was about as far as I would go for exterior mods and looked great because of it.

we probably are....ha

just trying to gather ideas that may potentially work on a stock bodied car
(or something near stock)

thinking maybe intake scoop, small bumper fins, splitter, something along those lines that arnt "too" crazy.

just ideas.

Glad cars still going well Odin!

Considering I've an azure blue car, any full kits I think will make the car a bit too full on.
Hence after smaller details, but also not sure I want things to look 'stuck on' :-/.
Not sure that leaves me with many options, ha!

I've haven't got a rare car that is 'sort after' anymore like my old rev5 was, and considering my present one is a uk converted car means changing things wouldn't effect values etc.

Maybe some black accents may work on a azure blue car?

Yep, you do have a late spec colour. So not many ideas to work from. But since when have you tuned a car so others will approve. Do what you feel is good :D

Maybe try subtle TOMS or a perfect candidate for trend setting

Ha. I've always done what suits me for sure, which is usually a subtle/clean look.

Hence after pics/ideas I can make work with what I usually like and to my tastes.

As much as I like that, its hardly a race look! More of a hardparking hellaflush look.

I've been toying with a few ideas, seeing as I have a black 2 with gold advan rgs a replica of the border demo car would be cool
Image
But then sometimes I think the border kit is a bit overdone.

Also i'd realy like the toms kit but i've never seen a black car with the toms kit. Something cool would be the Airwalker or Kei office kits, but again they are super rare, probably not in production and dont have replicas or if they do nobody knows what the quality is like.

Mainly the problem is finding the genuine parts, or making sure you get a decent fitting replica.

Jim, your car is too nice to ruin with faux-race styling IMHO :(

Not saying it doesn't work on some cars (black, silver, kitted etc.) but on a smart azure blue I think doing anything "racey" will look rather try-hard on what is otherwise a neat and classy looking car :thumleft:
