Soonish hopefully. Not started the wiring yet though. Got Paul at Woodsport looking over my proposed wiring and advising what I've got wrong before I start.

Great work so far, looking forwards to seeing how this turns out and drives
Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile
Should be a fun car when finished. Nice work so far.
Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile
Decided a few hours was plenty on the car today.
Painted crossmember and pumped loads of rust preventer into it.
Refitted along with ARB and got the car back on its wheels.
Ride height ok.
Still to do:
Clutch line
Wiring
AVCR
Heater return line and radiator line
Exhaust

Steve Horrocks made this for me to blank the gearbox speedo drive hole as its not used now and leaving the drive in interfered with the crossmember. Had an hour last night so got it fitted along with the clutch line.
Managed to get standard clutch line all connected with a lot of bending and manipulation to direct it away from the downpipe. Need to heat wrap downpipe still and apply more heat reflection to the lower bulkhead as can only just get hand between that and downpipe.
Also fitted my wideband.
Started fitting my AVCR in the centre cubby hole as well but ran out of time.

After some quite challenging wiring it runs, I'm absolutely over the moon. Seriously doubted whether I'd be able to get this far on my own.
Only issues left are exhaust system needs joining up (beyond my skills) and need some sort of trigger wheel and crank sensor setup if I want the stock rev counter to work.

any progress on this? i have a mk3 as well now so am interested to hear the outcome
Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile
Water pump was weeping slightly so had to strip cambelt etc off to change it. Just in the process of putting it back together now as it was a total pain. Also going to take the opportunity to mount the trigger wheel on the bottom pulley so I can get the stock rev counter working.
Then its just exhaust left to do.
As it currently stands. Engine is a bit wonky as drivers side engine mount is still off at the moment.
Got these to try and fit as well.

Just need a centre pipe making up for the exhaust now. Still a bit of a sleeper.
Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile
I'd love to see this at the Blyton Toyota day
Hats off to ya that's a lot of work just on the driveway. You gonna space those rear wheels out a bit more aggressively as well?

Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile
Looks like you have had a lot to do, i'm sure it will be well worth it once on the road though, well jealous...
Re: 3SGTE Roadster - update 13.2 @ 108mph 1/4 mile
Wheels are pretty close to the arches as it is. At the moment it looks like on a hard launch when the back squats the wheels will just about fit inside the arch lips which is what I need.
I intend to keep the suspension quite soft as I want the weight transfer to the rear when drag racing to help with traction. Might switch to coilovers once my finances have recovered a little.

Exhaust bodged for now, coolant system bled, had car running for an hour or so to check things and apart from a couple of small leaks was all ok.
Realised MOT has ran out whilst off the road so that will be its first trip on Saturday morning. Something to look forward too!

MOT passed this morning. Time to get some miles on it.

That looks awesome, well done on doing by yourself and on your driveway.
When does your MOT place open?
