[Mk2] [NA] Battery keeps getting flat

Hey chaps

Wonder if you can help me with this one before Taking the car to garage.

The car has been SORN for 3 months and as expected the battery was flat the other day when I tried to start it. Long story short i have jump start the car a few times now. The car has started normally after that even when i only took it for a short drive once. A couple of days ago it did start ok again.

This morning I tried again and the battery was flat ( the battery is new ... Less than 1000 miles). Again I jump started the car and took it of a longer run. The battery is still flat and the car wont start again. The indicator in the dash shows that the battery is charging ok and the alternator is also pretty new.

Any ideas why this could be happening?

Charge your battery, and then take it to a local car spares shop for drop testing.

Letting a battery go flat will often kill it regardless of age.
