The love/hate relationship with my car continues, just when i thought it was all back on track to being a good runner i have found coolant dripping from the undertrays underneath the car.
I see there are many threads about replacing the pipes with standard rubber pipes and will be going this route as i dont have the money to take it to a an mr2 expert.
Is there anything i should be looking out for when doing this? Just two new lengths of pipe and run them under the fuel tank? I am confortable bleeding the system just really cant be ar$ed to start this - kinda making we want to pack in and get rid of it!
Any help/guidance appreciated
Dan

yep two lengths of rubber hose, some cable ties and 4 new jubilee clips.
most people run them at the side of the main rad pipes as it saves dropping the tank

Take it to Luke (Skywalker) and have him do them, he loves that job hehe.
Re: [Mk2] [NA] Pipes from hell - need motivation!
After seeing how tight this is I'm sure he does!
Did consider taking it up there but I don't think the car would take the 2 and a half hour journey leaking coolant

You could bypass the heater. Just loop the pipe on the engine back on itself to cut the heater out of the circuit.
You won't have a heater but as its summer it shouldn't be bad.

Yes this means I could use the car to go out and get the bits needed to do it properly at the weekend cheers

All done but never ever again........
Toyota wanted £558 just for the replacement pipes, including parts I have done it for under £60 including 5 litres of Toyota red coolant.
If there is a worse job on an mr2 then I will probably sell up!

Yep
Try changing the 2 oil cooler pipes on the Rev 3 + turbo, not long ago done this, what a cxxt !
If anyone ells does it please change the 2 oil seals on the cooler as mine went after 3 weeks and I have to do that same thing all over again, nothing like doing virtually the same job twice
Exhaust, cat with elbow and brackets, manifold heat shield, dip stick and bracket + a couple of other parts like Lambda and cat temp sensor, all this came off OK on mine no rusted up / off bolts, but you try getting the darn circlip up the pipes this was the worst bit and I got a face full of antifreeze yummy nice and sweet looks like Ribena .
Mine had air con which was regassed a month before and there was no way I was taking that off so had to work over compressor.
Not a job for the impatient person and I swore a lot and threw the odd spanner around when I got a face full of oil !

Haha maybe I should stop moaning I do hate rusted exhaust bolts!
Still, onwards onto the next little niggly job on the expanding 'to do' list!
