MR2 for sale - any user feedback

Post by basch32 »

Hi guys,

As this isnt my car I wasnt sure if it should go in the sale section or here

I am looking to find out if anyone knows the owner or any of the history of this car as I am thinking of going to have a look but it would mean a trip from Ireland:

http://www.pistonheads.com/classifieds/ ... hp/1545165

Thanks

The advert includes a long list of aftermarket parts fitted and tuning work carried out, I'd want to see invoices and receipts to prove ALL these claims.

There's no mention of the fuel system spec.

I'd want to know the spec of the Owen Development stage 5 turbo, is the turbo based on the standard CT turbo? if so I'd question the power claims, any dyno graphs?

Who did the build, work on the engine internals, head, etc. ?

Who mapped the car?

It could be a genuine, reliable, modified MR2 or it may not. On a car like this that has been highly modified, I'd pay an MR2/tuning specialist to give the car a thorough going over.

Great info and much appreciated, yes there is a dyno print out from 2bartuning with power levels its 400ish not 470hp and its definitely a ct hybrid unit.

I am going to keep an eye out for cars at the minute and like you said if i do go I will definitely organize that a specialist takes a look at it first. Highly tuned cars can be bullet proof but if something is wrong they go BOOM.

Ryan at 2bartuning is a very highly regarded mapper, I'd perhaps contact him directly about the car, he really knows his stuff and will be able to back up the quality of the build.
