So the weighbridge was open....

Post by HighwayStar »

....and I stopped by to be nosy. Got my rev1 uk t-bar weighed by the nice man sat outside eating his sandwich in the sunshine.

With me and some paint tins in the boot came in at 1320kg. I weighed the tins and had just been weighed myself at hospital so I deduce the car with fluids inc 2/3 of a tank of petrol, spare, tool kit, bigger brakes and alloys, leather int. down to mats and glovebox contents, the works, is 1230kg.

Sound about right?

Seem to remember reading somewhere that the dry weight of a rev 2 hardtop turbo was 1260kg, so yeah seems about right :thumleft:

turbos have heavier gearboxes though and id say that sounds lardy for a rev1 personally

T-bars are heavier due to chassis strengthening though :thumleft:

Wouldn't the glass and associated fittings weigh more than metal as well?

Yup. Nearly 1/2 tank of fuel I guess is about 30kg so that sounds right. Jason you're both right and wrong... the strengthening indeed isn't over 100kg, 1150 to 1230 is 80kg. Some strengthening, some leather, more glass etc.

i cant see the t bar glass being more than 5kgs over a sunroof glass panel, as for leather i doubt they weigh anymore than cloth seats, and mine had a v6 in it

My rev 3 UKDM T-Bar came out at 1222kg with a full tank of fuel and a few things in the car.

To be fair I haven't got powersteering and I've got a JapSpeed exhaust.
